The FOOTPRINT Advisory Committee

Do you have a strong interest in the project and its FOOT tools?
Then join the Advisory Committee!

Initial contacts with potential stakeholders and end-users have demonstrated that there is a very strong interest in the FOOT tools which are being developed within FOOTPRINT. In order to maximise the potential usefulness and exposure of the FOOT tools, the consortium decided to set up an Advisory Committee with individuals from the following communities:
- farmer associations
- extension advisers
- registration authorities
- water managers and those involved in the implementation of the WFD
- researchers
- scientists from the agrochemical industry

The Advisory Committee will have three essential roles with regard to the project:
1) provide feedback on the relevance of the work undertaken to the needs of the stakeholders and future users of the FOOT tools;
2) raise awareness of the project in their influence circles and member states; and,
3) contribute actively to the dissemination of the results and to the uptake of the FOOT tools in Europe.

Two levels of commitment in the Advisory Committee have been defined:

1) The 'Level 1' commitment level is intended for individuals who have a strong interest in the tools being developed within the project and want to have a strong input in the project. Level 1 individuals will be invited to attend 4 meetings of the Advisory Committee during the course of the project and will have their expenses paid. In return, Level 1 individuals are required through reference terms to: i) provide their feedback in writing on the project outputs with a particular emphasis on the relevance of the tools developed to their needs; ii) attend all meetings of the Advisory Committee; iii) contribute actively to these meetings; and, iv) contribute to disseminating the knowledge about the project and its results. The number of Level-1 members is limited to 12.

2) The 'Level 2' commitment level is intended for those individuals who want to have a lighter contribution to the project, but still want to provide their opinion with regard to the project and its relevance to their work. The Level 2 is also intended for individuals who are likely to be too busy to attend the four annual meetings of the Advisory Committee.

The Advisory Committee will first meet on 24 February 2006 in Orléans for the kick-off meeting and will subsequently convene in Copenhagen (Denmark), Wroclaw (Poland) and Milan (Italy).

If you would like to be part of the Advisory Committee, please contact the projet coordinator.

If you just want to be kept aware of the latest project developments, please register with the FOOTPRINT announcement list.
